About LimitWatch & methodology
LimitWatch is an independent database of how quickly legal US and Canadian sportsbooks limit winning bettors and how quickly they pay out withdrawals. It's for winning bettors, bonus hunters and positive-EV and arbitrage players who want to know what to expect before they deposit.
Where the data comes from
- Community reports (Reddit). The first 131 records come from public posts and comments on r/sportsbook, r/sportsbetting, r/EVbetting, r/algobetting, r/arbitragebetting and related subreddits. Each record links to the exact post or comment it came from.
- Reader submissions. Reports sent through our submission form. These are reviewed before publishing.
Rules we follow
- One record = one sportsbook in one report. A comment covering five books becomes five records with the same source link.
- We never invent or estimate a number. If the bettor didn't say it, the field is blank (shown as “n/s”).
- We summarize in our own words and don't copy posts. We don't publish usernames.
- We only cover legal, licensed US and Canadian sportsbooks. Offshore books are left out even when they're mentioned.
- Reports from outside the US and Canada are excluded when the bettor says where they are.
How numbers are converted
We keep the bettor's own wording (hover over a number in the table) and turn it into a sortable number: 1 week = 7 days, 1 month = 30 days, 1 business day = 24 hours, “instant” = 0, and ranges use the midpoint (“24–48 hours” = 36 h). Vague phrases like “a few days” stay as text and are left out of the averages.
How leaderboards work
Leaderboards use the median of reports with a stated time, so a single outlier can't dominate. Books need at least 2 timed limit reports, or 3 timed payout reports, to appear. Samples are small, so treat the rankings as signals, not facts.
Big caveats
- Selection bias. People who get limited post about it far more than people who don't.
- Behaviour matters more than the book. Reports suggest that props, alt lines, pre-game +EV and arbitrage get flagged faster than main-line or live betting, and that promo-only accounts get promo-limited.
- Payout times depend on method, amount, first-withdrawal checks, weekends and your bank.
- Reports are not verified. A report is one person's account.
